About Garistine (Joy) Simmons

Hello, my name is Garistine Davis Simmons, but you can call me, Joy. I am named after my parents, Gary and Christine Davis; hence, the name Garistine, but, they nicknamed me, Joy, because I brought so much “joy” to their lives.

Anyway, calling me “Joy” is significant. I want you to know that I love helping single individuals, families, and business owners find “joy” and “peace” by helping them meet their goals, make an impact in society, and/or resolve or avoid difficult situations. I enjoy educating and building relationships with my clients, not just representing them. I want to help them be proactive and not just reactive, so that they can thrive and not just survive.

I am licensed to practice law in the State of North Carolina. I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Saint Augustine’s College in Raleigh, North Carolina, the Masters of Business Administration and the Juris Doctor degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and the Master of Laws degree from Saint Thomas University in Miami, Florida. During my career, I have practiced law with the North Carolina Banking Commission, as well as in my own law firm. I taught accounting, tax and business law courses at several universities. I own and operate a tax preparation franchise. I am also the co-founder of Faith Consulate, a church where I serve alongside my husband, Ben Simmons.
