About Robert Walker

Hi. I’m Robert Walker. I became a Personal Family Lawyer because It’s so rewarding to help Texas families, couples and individuals navigate the maze of legal and financial decisions to accomplish their goals — safeguarding assets, protecting family or personal interests, or passing on a legacy. My skill is structuring estate plans that achieve the client’s goals while keeping their loved ones away from the dreaded three C’s of poor estate planning – conflict, court, and cost.

I focus on foundational estate planning — Living Trusts, Wills, General and Medical Powers of Attorney, Advance Health Directives, and Kids Protection Planning. Whether you are married or single, a traditional family or a blended one, starting out or looking back on a life well-lived, I will help you to design a plan that achieves your goals for your loved ones today and for years to come.

I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M University School of Law) in 1996. Soon after I was drawn to opportunities in the newly deregulating wholesale electricity industry. After a 20-year career in energy trading and renewable energy development, I wanted to leave the corporate world and be self-employed. I moved back to Texas, re-activated my law license and discovered New Law Business Model.

I spent much of the Covid-restricted 2020-21 working through NLBM’s Life & Legacy Planning curriculum. Estate planning had always been the area of law I knew I would find rewarding and I love educating clients to make informed decisions about how best to prepare their loved ones for that future event we all face. It’s so important!

When not working, I enjoy travel, reading history and biographies, and the New York Times crossword puzzles.

The Personal Family Lawyer Promise

What makes PFL lawyers different?

Asset 1how you hire

How you hire us.

We begin with a comprehensive inventory of everything you own, and everyone you love, and consider it all in a working meeting, called a Family Wealth Planning Session, to guide you to clarify your financial life and legacy goals before we draft a single document.

Asset 1@3x

How we plan.

We work with you throughout every life stage to map out the most likely scenarios for you and the people you love, planning for each as your life, the law, and your assets change over time.

Asset 1what we protect

What we protect.

Our Life & Legacy Planning process ensures everything that matters most -- from your financial assets to your values, insights, stories and experience -- are captured and documented during your life and cared for over the generations to come.

Asset 1transparency

What you see.

Transparency in our process, and our fees … all of which are flat fees, agreed to in advance, based on your choices and with no surprises, ensuring we stay on the same side of the table - supporting you to make a lifetime of great decisions - every step of the way.

Asset 1DElivery

How we deliver.

Our systems help you get clear and organized, overcoming the exact issues that keep most estate plans from actually working when they are needed most. We help you leave your family with a gift of love, and not a mess.

Asset 1work

How our plans work.

One-and-done estate plans focused only on money are a recipe for a big mess. We help you throughout every stage of life and be there for the people you love, when you can’t be.
